Most of the paths on the Dozen follow walls or fences and on days like this the views are extensive. It is reassuring to stop and on given sections see the Three Peaks of Yorkshire, Pendle Hill, Morecambe Bay and the Lakes. I know this pillar by the name Knottend (6/12) and half a dozen complete. I cycled LEJOG and stopped at The Cross of Greet to see my route unfold towards the Howgills. All pillars gifted to the memories of places visited.

One of the best things about tracking down trig pillars is that you end up in places you've never got round to visiting before. Today it was Bowland Knotts; a fantastic area of weathered rocks on top of an otherwise fairly featureless moor. Great 3 Peaks viewing platform and as it turned out a very windy spot.
