Circuitous walk from traditional AA box on tracks through open coniferous woodland being used for intensive pheasant rearing. Judging from the (unnerving) number of birds braking cover the blood letting had not yet begun. Area best avoided in shooting season. orig cap.

Parked at Oare Post, over field gate and 200m of moorland pasture to trig. Pillar found vgc on a small, slightly exposed plinth. Original cap has been retained, indented lettering; rear and LHD side sight holes open. Extensive views S & E; conifer plantation restricts vis to N & W.

Visited after bagging Dunkery beacon county top - not logged that one missing, seems like a fruitless exercise - short walk up from the car left by the junction below. Gate was open so easier than ever. Great views - could see Dunkery Beacon cairn easily from here.

Walked from a car park on A39. Retains plug. Some surface flaking of concrete.

Parking at the junction to the south. The gate isn't locked, so you don't even need to jump it. No one any where near so no problem. Coniferous trees to north so no sea views but the views to east and south are good. Worn base. Cap in tact. Orange on one side.
