I came out here to maintain a geocache and realised there was a trigpoint just up the road. I don't think I've ever been here before, nice to visit it, even if the wind is gale force and it hailed on my walk back to the car (which was at Buckstones!). A scenic spot.

(346) I visited in the dead of night after taking the car on a long run; it was cold and damp but took less than ten minutes from the roadside. I parked up in the very handy layby on the A640, and simply followed the clear (by torchlight) unmapped track across the moor. It turns right as you crest the hill and the pillar sits in a clearing of sorts amongst the heather. The trig is in really good condition with a full set of metalwork and a flaking, weathered coat of paint - obviously I can't speak for the views, but as easy access moorland pillars go, this is a doddle.
