Pleasant walk from Craig of Dalfro ( van parked at Bridge of Bogendreip) along clean and dry farm and forest tracks. One section just beyond Pitdelphin farm was hopping with toads all looking to procreate and some actually in the process. I really had to watch where I put my feet. Lots said of a deer fence in previous accounts. I don't wish to offend but reports of said deer fence are much exagerrated. My map shows it as surrounding a stand of trees and it can easily be avoided by goimg around. It is also in such a poor condition that anyone who feels deprived of clambering over a deer fence can get through it at various points. All in all this was an easy walk from Craig of Dalfro with a bit of rough track at the end. Joining them on one walk enhanced both. Cutties Hillock was in good condition the spider and cap with lettering intact. No views ( except of copulating toads). I have now visited all the trig points listed with the name "Cutties" in their title. All were done this year too!

No need to cross deer fence if you follow the tracks to NO 63799 90365. Taking a dog leg around the fence. Dogs enjoyed the walk, a leg stretch on the way to St Andrews for a weeks holiday.

Took the wide forest track from the east, and was just wondering where to head upwards when I noticed a narrow footpath as indicated by three arrows painted on the ground (bright fluorescent yellow). Followed this footpath, turned left at the top to join a rough tyre-scarred track round to the pillar which has cap in place with light lettering, and one sight-hole open.

Second visit. For GPS reading and updated photographs. SITE VISIT: Approached from east. Parked in forest entrance at NO647902. Followed mapped tracks to NO640901 and to (not on 1:50K) NO638903 then SW up firebreak to trig. In woods beside cairn. Pillar in excellent condition. Spider retains a mysteriously reinstated OS centre cap with shallow engraved letters. Flush bracket faces SSW, ~204°. Vented through SE sight hole. No view due to surrounding conifers.

Drove in to 635900 where there is a small path up hill through the larches, just about three tree rows south of the pine tree species change. The most pristine pillar I think I've ever come across. Very smooth perfect concrete top and sides, plus original metal cap with shallow indented letters. Interesting that there have only been three other posts and all mention open centre so clearly a central cap has been replaced at some stage, since Iainmac's visit. One might say very boring compared to the textures on some pillars tops and sides. Returned on19th to make trig top plaster cast. Interesting to see Clochandighter's future pic showing clear evidence of the'tide' line from my earlier trig top plaster cast.
