I parked in the car park to the west. After visiting the nearby Cutties Hillock pillar I used tracks and foot/cycle paths to reach this location. The pillar is in very good condition and still retains an original metal plug. The only view is of trees, trees and trees but quite an atmospheric location.

A short walk to this now easy to find pillar (Mountain bike track leads to it) This is a normal tapered pillar. The forest hosts a permanent orienteering course, so if you can get hold of a map, its easy to find, as its used as a control.

Visited to record FB number. The pillar was completed 20th June 1937 costing 6.5s.0d. In 1937 this marker was computed as primary station PP357 in Figure 3 of the OSGB primary network. The flush bracket was levelled for height in 1957. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in May 1987. This pillar is a standard Hotine type. Proved difficult to find, in deep ferns in wood. Normal tapered pillar. Rare to have two trig pillars on one hill. Unique to have two primary stations on one hill.
