High summer is not the time to tackle this one. Parked at the entrance to the Golf Course and walked up the drive to the second FP on right. Through trees to fairway, waited for a foursome to pass, then across. Up from the FP into the copse where the fun really began. Dense nasty brambles and nettles made locating the pillar very difficult. Even considered giving up as I was making quite a noise thrashing about and the course was rife with golfers, then caught a glimpse of the pillar about 15 foot away. Pleased to report that Kevlar's Golf Ball is still atop the pillar but it seems someone has moved it a little. Found six golf balls myself on the way out which should last me a couple of holes when I next pick up my clubs.

I definitely chose the wrong day and time of year to visit this one. Sunny Saturday meant the course was full of golfers. And the area around the trig was overgrown (see pics). Still, it's in the bag and I actually found it quite exciting :) I have a few scratches and nettle stings on the legs but worth it because this trig looks in excellent condition. Nice coat of paint. I found a few golf balls in the vicinity of the pillar so I left one on the top. (lets see how long it remains there).

Abandoned the van on the road and followed the ROW's to the golf course and up to the trig. No one about today. Don't think the locals appreciated having the works van left on the road.

Parked at Prestbury Golf Club. Walked up the road towards the entrance to the golf club, but before reaching the entrance, I took a public right of way down a footpath. I then walked up and then crossed a fairway to a wooded area where the pillar is located.

Parked just north of the trig point in Broadwalk road, Dale Brow. Then walking up the main road to a steel gate on the right which enters a wooded area with the golf course fairway visible through the trees. Walk up through the woodland heading southwest crossing one fairway to the trig point standing in a second wooded area. No golfers about today all quiet.

One of the easiest trigs to bag but strangely it was great fun finding it. Park in the golf course car park. Not sure if this is allowed but you wont be more than 15 minutes to the trig and back. Follow the road back from the car park to the first footpath on your left (about 200 yards), take the footpath and follow it until it ends then follow the course (in the rough of course) along the right until you find another path. There is an island of trees to your left, its up there hidden from the path slightly.

Access from parking on Macclesfield Rd near PROW SSE of pillar. Using the FP we walked up to Prestbury Golf Club drive and then round the edge of the fairways to get to the pillar. Easy enough to get to with hardly anybody around. Return via same route.

Lying snow would seem to make this a safe bet, but had to watch out for the sledgers - a lovely little space. Up to Billinge Hill near Rainow after for a gorgeous walk being watched by sheep on the food prowl and with Nab End, Bollington trig on the horizon.

Couldn't find any suitable parking nearby so ended up parking on Berwick Close, 0.7 miles to the south. Followed a pleasant public footpath northwards to the golf club lane. The fairways were deserted so was able to nip into the woods to bag the trig unchallenged.

Walked right onto golf course had to cross one green to little wood trig in vgc cap/plug golfers very friendly knew what i was looking for beautiful golf course very affluent location need to win euro lottery to buy some of houses nearby!

Walk up lane to the golf course then just before its gate take public footpath on right on edge of course with big houses on your right. On the left is a distinct hill with copse has moss covered trig semi hidden inside at the N section. No views as such.

Used golf club driveway access and followed fence line behind houses to SE, leading to golf course hardcore path which led to narrow fairway to be crosed into copse with trig. not challenged by golfers or groundsman.

Hidden away in a little copse on Prestbury golf club. Abandoned the car by the side of the main road and took the public footpath through the (lovely) houses and out onto the golf course. A quick trek over the course whilst no one was playing and soon found the trig

Metal plug [indented letters]. Private. Prestbury Golf Club. Winter months a good time to visit these golf course trigs. This one easily found in small wood at top of course.

From golf course road turn right and follow edge to tenth Tee. Trig in trees on right. At time of visit trig was easily visible.

Accessed through wooden gate from road, as previous visitor and not via footpath or clubhouse. Easy to stop and park when travelling by bike, and then only a short walk. Surprised to find no golfers in sight, but didn't hang about in case anyone turned up and objected to my presence!

Accessible but could be missed in the undergrowth. In clump of woodland on Prestbury golf course. Just off right of way footpath so care needed not to upset golfers. Almost lost in summer growth and looks a bit neglected but the pillar itself is in good condition. Original plug with indented lettering. Any views that there are, are somewhat restricted.

Drove down to club house, only one other car, so parked up and walked along RoW, across fairway and up into stand of trees. Access from fairway is easy, just follow track to highpoint of the hill. Trig is smothered by pine tree boughs and access in summer will be awkward due to brambles and nettles. No opportunity to upset the golfers, which is always a disappointment :)

Plug intact. Moss on all sides. A branch from a recently blown-over tree covers the top of the trig but hasn't caused any damage. Visit timed to avoid the golfers.

Spotted a rear-entrance to the course through a gate just off the Prestbury Road. Found a couple of golfers who directed me straight to the pillar [after admonishing me for being there!].Original plug with slightly-indented letters. E sighthole open, the others closed. Some paint but much more lichen! Base exposed about 3" all round. In a small copse with no real views at all.

Metal plug intact. At edge of wood close to the 9th tee. Best use the crushed stone path the golfers use to avoid spending time roaming through the wood! Prestbury is a lovely golf course. I asked for (and was granted) permission at the club house.

Take main entrance drive into Prestbury Golf Course and on reaching first green keep right which is signed as a public footpath. Cross diagonally a fairway then bear right and ascend small wooded hill ahead. Trig point is towards far end.

2nd golf course of the day. This one is not to bad. If you go down the golf course drive. there is a path the goes off before the course, follow this then you only have to cross over 1 fairway to the hill with the trees on.Its a bit moss covered and no views.
