From SE, parking at end of Thorney Rd. Good tracks and forest roads although not well mapped. Trig 10m or thereabouts N of the path in scrubby woodland; bramble and bracken not too bad this time of year. Mossy pillar has a mortar plug replacing top cap; rear sight hole open. No views but M4 noise intrusive.

Not far from the path but awash with brambles, bracken and rhodedendron when visited in summer. This place must have been so different when the trig was going up. There's a building nearby and boundary walls here and there. Much of the woodland must be relatively new.

Up there somewhere!

Made hard work of this. Coming from the nearby cache as a heavy rain shower started I didn't see the path(!) and so went too far to the east and thence through brambles, nettles, brashings, a field and finally back to the trig point & forest track. It was easier going back.

We parked at the end of the little yellow road to the south east of the trig. (the road has a barrier half way along which means negotiating the housing estate - no problem). We followed the path up through the woods until you get to the clearing for the pylons. It's easy to find your way from there, taking the track which follows the side of the wood. The trig is to the north of the path, not too overgrown, and directly opposite a burnt out car. No views, concrete/tarmac plug.
