Easy to get to ... and no need to climb through hedges over walls or trespass in old peoples home ... go through the gate at ST 05031 83674 (close to the old water pump with ornamental fence) ... field is used by local dog walkers ... follow obvious trod up the hill keeping hedge to RHS .. bear left at top trig just in front of masts :-)

Had visited the Royal Mint down the road and spotted there was a trig here earlier in the day whilst doing a Wherigo Geocache in Llantrisant, but didn't have time to bag it earlier as we had a 2.00pm timeslot booked for our tour at the Mint. Drove up private road to what I'm guessing is a Nursing Home. Parked around the back of the Home and climbed over a wall by where there was rubbish stored. Once on top of the wall I had no problem getting over the low wire fence and was not approached, or spotted by a single sole. Great views in all directions. Spider in tact and no visible damage. Perfect weather today too.

In using Jon's route and out using Carol's. I must say I think I prefer Carol's as it involves shedding less blood. Good views from the trig which is in a lush meadow.

Easy walk up private road that leads to the private hospital walk to the top of the drive 2/3mins walk up and there's a gap in the hedge / wall about 30 meters from the property. Trig is in the field on your right - fabulous views from the Trig

Tricky access, went up the private road and dived left through the hedgerow into a paddock/pasture 20-30m before the house. Pillar retains original top cap, with indented lettering; rear and RHS sight holes open. Nice panoramic views in the glooming.
