Pulled over on south east side of road about 500 metres north east of Barrow Wold Farm crossroads on B1206 at field entrance. Trying to rain and a bit pressed for time so checked detailed map on here. Somewhere in field boundary. Along west side next to corn field and gained height. Quite a lot of weeds and thistles on field edge. About two hundred and fifty metres from the road spotted pillar in the hedge, vegetation grown up around it. A bit of tidying up. Spider and cap in place. Views to north east through gap in hedge. Unfortunately no view of the bridge, just the tops of the towers from the road.

Easy walk up side of field on way home from training in Hull. Trig nearly buried in weeds and stingers, was unable to uncover as no stick nearby. Must remember to take walking stick with me to these type of trigs! Soil wet from recent days of rain but sun was hot hot. Itchy.

On my way back from visiting old uni mate Horncastle way. Trig easily found in hedge. Humber Bridge could be seen to N and the Humber estuary E. Good clear day.

(35) Road was fairly quiet, but cars/bikes do move at speed. Nice wide gap in hedge, and a barren length of earth on the verge to park up on, at the location. A short walk to the pillar, maybe 5 or so minutes. The pillar itself was half covered by nettles. All complete. Pillar history: Built on the 21st of May 1939, at a cost of £4 9s 0d. Last maintained by the OS in July of 1987.

Visit with Carole. Easy access along the hedge line from the road to the north. Pillar seems to be in good condition and retains an original plug.

Plug intact; in gappy hedge at corner of field next to bird-scarer. Passing hail shower so not much view. Flare stacks to SE - maybe South Killingholme

I miscounted the hedges as I drove along the B1206, with the result that I picked the wrong hedgeline to follow. Fortunately, the ploughed field I then had to cross was reasonably firm after a couple of weeks of cold, dry weather. Watch out, this section of the road seems to be a popular overtaking point.
