On ring mound. Great views. Possibly visited when much younger as we used to come on holiday to Brighton (by Austin Seven from Birmingham) and Devils Dyke was a popular evening out. Sadly, can't say I remember the trig point.

Bagged this one en route to a gig in Brighton. Spectacular views from up here - on a clear day you can see all the way to the Isle Of Wight in one direction, and Nettlebed in another. This was a clear day. A dozen-ish paragliders were jumping off the hill, which was entertaining to watch. Had to duck a couple of times when they came back in to land. Enjoyed a fabulous roast dinner at the Devil's Dyke pub whilst I was there. Definitely worth a visit.

Parked at the National Trust car park and walked over to the trigpoint. Very very muddy from gate to trig which has been turned into a slurry bog thanks to the many cows who live here. (deeper than walking boots in places). Activated the trigpoint for the WAB net in the howling wind. What a blessing that it wasn't raining.

A short walk from the pub. Lots of dog walkers here, none going to the trig. Pillar sits on an embankment (part of the earthworks that formed the iron-age hill fort) to the left of the access road, handy stile to get over the fence. Pillar in good condition, good views.

Last came here in 1967 with a University field course! It wasn't as hot as it is today [29C] but the place hasn't changed a great deal. Original plug with raised letters. No paint. S sighthole open, others closed. No paint. Concrete base exposed about 18" all round. Hazy views.

On a day spent dodging showers, this was the one that caught me out. The heavens opened just as I reached the pillar and by the time I got back to the shelter of the nearby pub, I was just a little damp around the gills. The pillar is in good condition with all the required metalwork in place. The views are as good as you would expect, standing nearly 800 feet up on the Sussex Downs. The pub food is of high quality and reasonably priced. For those that are interested, this is YSM055

I was fortunate to be able to visit this trigpoint in the course of my work. Wonderful location, outstanding viewpoint, perfect conditions. The hillside and the sky full of paragliders and hang gliders, the car park crowded, and this on a week day in November !

Good views all around from trigpoint. Pillar in good condition despite some graffiti on it. Overhead someone describing the pillar as possibly some sort of sundial and thought it polite to let them know what it actually was!

One of the most popular places on the South Downs. Kites, paragliders, beautiful scenery in all directions, the incredible Devils Dyke itself, and a pub! Other than the ground eroding around it and the graffiti all over it, the trip pillar is in good condition. The high marks for interest are due to the magnificent views.

The Pillar is situated on top of one of the earth banks that form part of the iron age fort now known as Devils Dyke. The views all round are great and access is very easy.
