My second visit, very different route - parked at the W end of the intriguingly named Ladycuttings Lane and followed the PROW S through Snokoehill Plantation to the TP. Given that the best views from the TP are to the N, it will be interesting to see how the new broadleaf plantation on the N side of the drystone wall will impact the views from this TP in 5 or 10 years time...

Took the opportunity of a requirement to drive to the other end of Northumberland to collect a few 'drive-by' trigs en-route to County Durham. Mickley + Dilston + Winnowshill Common + Barley Hill = less than a couple of hundred metres of walking in total. Parked by the wood and took path into the wood but turned left after about 20 paces and headed to a break in the wall where a timber beam tops the dry stone wall, which gives easy access into the field without having to fight through the (probably inpenetrable) Rhoddies that line the east side of the wall the rest of the way to the end of the wood. The field was full of sheep so dog kept on lead the whole way. Very oddly sited TP! 30 metres south and it would be on top of the hill and would give a much better all round view.
