Continuation of walk from Cooms Fell, Roan Fell and Hartsgarth Fell. Contoured E on track to Haregrain Rig then followed fence line and vague ATV track due N almost to summit of Din Fell. Return route a direct descent SSW to the track and and back up to Hartsgarth, from there W to Scawd Bank, SW to Mid Height and then ATV track S along Tarraswater to Cooms Farm and a 4 mile road walk back to the van. Total accomplishments for the day: 3 great pillars; 16 miles in 7.5 hours of walking in which I saw 2 deer, dozens & dozens of feral goats, and zero people!

From Roan Fell along the track. The weather fun started at Roan Fell Cairn, it had been wet on and off all day from here until arriving back at the car it sleeted, torrential rain and a tiny bit of snow. At Hartsgarth Fell i followed the sheep track along the fence line all the way to the Din Fell and the up to the trig. On the return i made for the track once it was nearly level with me so not to loose height i'd already climbed. Track back to Roan Fell trig and then back to the car via Coom Fell.

Our first of 3 trigs today doing a linear walk along a ridge southward to Cooms Fell. Spectacular remote place in the Hermitage valley. Wonderful panoramic views. Pillar has a fracture on upper half of SE facing side. Spider top is intact.

Same route as jonglew below. Great views and good to be able to count the fence posts to keep us climbing to the top of the hill!

Parked at the end of the farm track and followed it up past Twislehope Farm (beware the dog kennels) and up the Calkergrain valley then north through the heather following the fence line to the summit. Great views again for early April and relatively dry. Took the same route back rather than a more direct route as I was unsure about finding a crossing point over the Hermitage Water but noticed on my return that there is a decent foot bridge a couple of hundred yards from where the car was parked.
