Parked on forest gravel road at SH 6805 2304 in Cwm-Mynach to E of Diffwys. (An adventure in itself, driving up the v steep and narrow road from Pont Borthwnog - it is a RoW for motor vehicles where it becomes a gravel road.) Walked along road for approx 100m and took signposted track L through woodland. Followed the amazing miner's track all the way to the ridge (what a climb!) and then headed W & SW along the wall to TP. Very hot September day and great views for many miles around. Stone-built TP with one missing. Headed back along wall all the way to Y Llethr, then on to Llyn Hywel and Llyn y Bi. SE to disused quarry workings and followed old track back to forest and return. Great hike.

Parked at end of the public road in Cwm Minach to the west of mountain, walked up via forest track then mine path (in places a well constructed causeway) marked on map past the mine workings. Superb views on a very hot day which made the pull up to the ridge tiring. Feels like a "proper" mountain. Met a couple of walkers at the summit, one of them drawing the trig in her sketch book. We resorted to ultramodern technology and took a photo.
