Got a soaking for this one on the short walk up, and then there was a dangerously slippery climb up onto the plinth, but survived. Pillar has its cap; shallow lettering. All s/h's open.

If we all chipped in to a collection we could have the hedge rebuilt. I was thinking we could call it the hedge fund.

We parked just south of Lincombe Cross in a large layby. The entrance to the field is at spot height 172 on the explorer map. The first field is arable, the second pasture, full of dairy cows. The trig was originally on a hedgeline, hence the large plinth. Plug with indented lettering.

A trig that stands out like...like...well, like a trig on a big plinth in the middle of a grassy field. On this glorious afternoon I could see Haldon Belvedere which is 20 miles away. Don't know if it was the same bird, but there was a buzzard sat on it, just like at Fowelscombe half an hour earlier! Access is through an open gate along a track nicely photographed by Hollowing.

... and another miss. This looks like permission only too. As with several others today, I only made progress to within a couple hundred feet or so.

This Pillar should be the next field over.
