Nice spot. I approached from the wrong side which made viewing the plate tricky. Come up the lane then there is a stile.

From minor road to the E along good farm track. Trig now has it's own small enclosure separating it from cow pasture but FB access severely restricted by wire stock fencing. Pillar generally in good condition but with 3 lumps concrete missing from rear face; cap missing, no plug; all sight holes open. Near 360deg views with some restrictions to W by trees/hedgerows. Should have been better but fine, misty, driving rain came in and me without a jacket - it's August!

Parked at Bramble Ditch (ST646423) with permission of friendly owner who then accompanied me to trig with her dog. I was then given some (delicious) home grow spuds and offered a cup of tea. (Previous visit: 1st June 2013, second by accident)

I took the same approach as two years ago. The visibility was much better today. The Mendips Hills between Pen Hill and the woods near Cranmore Quarry were on view to the north. Alfred’s Tower, Creech Hill and the distant hills of South Somerset were to the south. The view of Glastonbury Tor and the Somerset Levels to the west was partially restricted by nearby trees. Continuing down the track and taking the footpath over Whitstone Hill gives a better view westwards.

We parked at the end of the track near Bramble Ditch and walked up past Peacehaven Farm. We kept to the track and soon came to the trig which is on the south side, with the FB facing North. I climbed into the field to take our photo while Shane clung to the fence, which wasn't that good an idea as one strand was electrifed. The fields either side of the track were occupied by enormous bullocks which stampeded along beside us as we made our way back. Shane decided the electric fence wasn't such a bad idea after all. Plug missing.
