Rather a wet trudge over sodden ground, also had to avoid the remnants of the professional dog walkers of which I saw 3 on my short trip each with at least 6 dogs. It might be an illusion but the pillar appears to leaning south west towards Rosyth. Lots of new builds.

Major changes around here since my (GRP) original visit to this farmland TP in 1985. Housing going up all around this area but the ground the TP is on has been planted with saplings which suggests that the developers have been made to set this land aside for woodland by Fife Council. NB it was Persimmon who killed off S4411. TP built 28th February 1948. One of four fourth order pillar stations added to Block NT18 Dunfermline, in 1948. Pillar VGC but leaning slightly to the front right. Spider retains OS centre cap with shallow engraved lettering. White painted flush bracket faces WSW. RHS sighting hole open, others plugged. Views to Arthurs Seat, Braid Hills, Allermuir Hill, Scald Law, Forth Bridges, West Cairn Hill, Castlandhill Resr, Tinto, Cocklerue Hill, Dumyat, Ben Cleugh, Knock Hill. First visit. To record FB number. The pillar was completed 28th February 1948 costing 5.18s.6d. In 1948 this marker was computed for triangulation as fourth order station NT18/T52, in the Dunfermline secondary block. This is one of four fourth order stations that were added to this block, four years after the bulk of the NT18 trigs were built. The flush bracket was levelled for height in 1959. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in October 1987. Still on farmland in 1985.
