Approached from north after visiting Wyck Beacon. Pulled up at bend in the road where there was a car already parked. Expected to have to look in the bushes, about to go into the field when pillar spotted next to the car already parked there. Pillar would otherwise have been visible on the approach. Cap missing. View of road, unexciting, and field to south east.

Bagged this easy road sider after a visit to Cotswold Wildlife Park. Pillar has its own layby to pull into. It is slightly sunken, but in pretty good condition. FB still visible. Cap removed. Cotswolds countryside.

Easy. Driving to it from the north as you turn the bend and climb up the brow it momentarily appears to be located in the middle of the road before the lay-by comes in to view.

Here's some new info on this one:it's Gloucestershire's easternmost trig pillar and was the 2nd of a little project of mine to bag the highest and N, S, E, & Wmost pillars in each county, hence the high mark. I would have liked to bag Filkins (Oxon W) nearby, but with a bored teenager in a motorhome you've got to be selective.

Noticed this trig as we drove past on the way out so stopped off on the way back to grab the details and a photo. Easy to park right next to the trig and get the details from the FB but to enjoy the views takes a short walk around.

Arriving at the roadside trig we had the spectacular sight of a Red Kite hovering 20 feet or so over the road. By the time camera out he had moved quite a way from us. Trig point in good condition with limited views.

Just 161.11m from an OS bolt - why so close, one wonders. Pillar is located at convenient roadside pull-in, not surprising cap is missing, composite plug has all but gone and centre hole used as a wate-bin! Cleared crisp packets, tissues etc from it - nice!. Rear sight hole open. Good views N & NE only.

This is as easy as Carn Gloose in Cornwall. Potentially you don't have to get out of the car. However purism kicked in and a proper bagging took place. Decent views too in sunny weather. On way down to a short stay at RAF Brize Norton. Run through Burford is a shock - so many people!

Right by bend in minor road between Great Barrington and Great Rissington. Pillar in good condition; FB faces N; cap seems to be broken through with snails now living in the cavity! Horrible rainy day so no views to speak of. Position logged from average of two readings from GPS device accurate to ±5m.

Spotted this one as I drove home from a weekend in the West Country. Just had to stop and ‘bag it’. It was a bit grubby but in reasonable condition. The centre plug has been removed and the filler used the block the hole has been broken through. The views not spectacular, just rolling farmland but they're pleasant enough.

I'm amazed that no-one's logged this before as it's right by the side of the lane and there is a small layby to park in. It's all intact but with a concrete plug replacement. E sighthole open, the others closed. A little white paint. No significant views, just local agricultural scenery.
