vgc, cylindrical pillar, no cap or plug. Nice summit, just keeping out of the wispy cloud, great views of Loch Cluanie. From E, just room for a car at the dam entrance. Planned to descend via the 461m Meall Odhar but such a nice ridge I came back the same way.

E end of Ben Loinne ridge Easy ascent, not even a scramble. The shortcut across the dam could be hard though - 1.5m downclimb and rounded mossy spillway...

A thouroughly foul day. Not many out on the hill in Glen Sheil, and this 790m hill is as high as I wanted to be. The pillar is a vanessa, and in good but a wind blasted state. This is a common design in the Highlands, but a lot of them are now disappearing.

A gap in the wild weather, the summit of Beinn Loinne.
