Circular walk from Breadsall. Along Rectory Ln, past Glebe Farm to Morley Ln. Final approach made via access road to the scout camp. Turned East and followed track just inside the perimeter. Maintained direction where track swings North and pillar soon came into view on the left beside telecoms mast. Pillar in good condition with lovely white coat and all metalwork present. FB facing South and cap has indented lettering. Just the north sight-hole open. Pleasant enough spot although views limited due to trees. Pity about the profusion of masts. Left the way I'd entered to find a surly looking chap on the gatebox telephone. Was ready to explain purpose of my visit but he walked off before I reached him.

Trig still gleaming white and all metal work intact. reasonable views to the South. Not much activity at the Scout Camp - closed up for winter I guess.

Pristine white and fitting for a visit with the boy whose 21st birthday trig number is on the flush bracket. Trig Pillocksson, being now a stroppy teenager of 15, refused a nice natural toothy smile, specifically because dad requested it. Our visit coincided with a massive Scot camp of5/600. I asked someone if it was some national camp but no just the while of Derbyshire Scots for the weekend!! And we were on our way to Burton Albion football club, who are top of league two, to unfortunately see them beat York city 2:0.
