Near Drymen. Parked in entrance to sub station and the trig is a very short walk up the road on the other side. The trig is located behind a fence, moss covered and almost completely engulfed in gorse but does have good views from standing on top of it.

About a kilometre South-East of Drymen, along National Cycle Route 7. You can park at the entrance to an electricity sub-station on the left and the Trig is just past this on the opposite side of the road. Moss covered pillar, protected by a barbed-wire fence and surrounded by gorse bushes

Hidden amongst gorse bushes at the side of the road. Parked at Scottish Water treatment plant and its almost across the single lane road Seems in vgc, if I had a saw would have cut the gorse bushes back

Hard to find as well hidden in gorse behind a fence on the West Highland Way path (road) on the final approach to Drymen.

This trig is behind a fence on the West Highland Way path itself on the final approach to Drymen. Note that the top cap was in place and the trig is in fairly good condition given it is easy pickings for vandals.

Whilst at Drymen to walk a section of the West Highland Way over to Conic Hill I decided to firstly walk south to take a look at this trig which I must have passed some years before. Trig, though near the road to Gartness, is on the other side of a fence and surrounded by both nettles & gorse so is awkward to really see but glad I found it & will know now where to look next time I pass this way.

WHW#3: Had to pass by Hilton - river level too high and prospect of 10 further miles in wet boots, uninviting! Perfect weather for onwards walk to here, great views including Dumgoyne, Conic Hill, Ben Lomond and the Highlands beyond. No views from this trig, however, as now completely overtaken by gorse. Metal cap, shallow letters, s/holes inaccessible, vgc.

Very good condition pillar right beside the road. Very easy bag! FB faces east-ish, with south-ish sighthole open only. Cap present with sunken lettering. Surprisingly excellent 360 degree views from here to Loch Lomond, Duncryne, Duncolm (very apparent on the horizon), Auchenedin, Gargunnocks etc.

Looking good with only South sight open. Shrouded in gorse and nettles with the odd thistle and bluebells on the roadside. TAKE CARE ...There is a coil of barbed wire in the tall grass between the gorse bushes on the field/quarry side.

Hidden in several gorse bushes and just the other side of the fence from the road. Spider plug is still intact and all round good condition. Nearby sand quarry is a disgraceful eyesore, but lift your eyes higher and some good hills in view. Done as part of the West Highland Way, on the road section into Drymen.

Visited to record FB number. The pillar was completed 1st March 1949 costing £8.5s.11d. In 1952 this marker was computed was tertiary station NS29/T42 in the Greenock secondary block. Flush bracket S4876 was levelled for height in 1968. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in March 1982. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains OS plug. Roadside pillar just behind field fence. Views to Earls Seat and Duncolm. Quarry behind pillar. Views to Earls Seat and Duncolm. Photographed 7/07/1992, GRP.
