Parked just opposite the top of the road. Easy walk to the wooden fence and hop over it. Although there are plenty of ankle breakers walking down the side of the fence to the trig so have to be careful.

Room to park at Drumbow farm entrance on Caldercruix road. Easy walk up road, bend left and jump fence just past reservoir. Trig straight ahead beside fence. This last 50m is tussocky and wet - wear boots. Trig damaged. See photos.

Second visit for updated photographs. Not a friendly place. Interrogated in an unwelcoming manner, quite separately by two different male residents. Neither knew or appreciated what a triangulation pillar was! For what it is worth, I suspect this road is public and surfaced on behalf of North Lanarkshire Council. There are several houses and streetlighting at top end. If the natives up this long cul-de-sac have issues with visitors that is their affair but if they cannot be civil, they should mind their own business until they can improve their people skills to a level sufficient enough to address people with dignified courtesy.

Indebted to Clochandighter for this one - I didnt know it had been refound. Visited with Cd and Coinea after our Fortissat visit. FB and spider have been removed, presumably by the OS. Not a good idea to park on the private road / verge - low profile seems best policy ...

Badly damaged pillar with flush bracket and spider removed. The pillar has obviously been moved. Not keyed into the ground at all and 18m away from the presumed location (now the reservoir). Easy to get to. Would have had good views north to the Ochils. Bit hemmed in from its current location to the side of the reservoir.

Its very difficult to define interesting... one of this poor little fellas FlushBracket retaining hoops is still there. The destroyed top with bent ring leads me to think they used that ring to foist and hoik our boy into his new position. Complete base is still intact, all sights open and a perfect line of sight to Harthill... probably was to BlackHill. Sad to see but we've all seen worse. :-( We cant all be 21metres off... is there any worth to flagging this up to OS ?

Beside a covered reservoir and a mess. Metalwork missing. FB stolen. It appears to have been moved judging by the GPS readings.

EAsy to find when you know its there. Would merit a damaged if it was still in position as it is in a perilous state.

This poor soul has been dead but upright since around 1979. Just outside compound, LHS towards the back. Spider gone. FB gone. All four sighting holes open. Unmapped. Unlisted. Empty FB socket faces 153°(SE). Once had views to Ben Cleugh, Ballencrieffe Hill, Allermuir Hill. Photographed 16/07/2005.

Built 02/02/46, destroyed 05/79, FB S3613 [OS]. Resr development GRP1989. Just read IainMac's report. I missed that, back in 1989. I have to confess I didn't look too hard for it. I went there knowing that it was already off the maps, so not expecting to find a pillar. I could see from the approach that there was nothing visible on top of the resr - where it appears to be indicated on the One Inch map. It was still indicated on the first edition of LR65 (1976) but was deleted by the time the 1981 edition was printed. The excuse for not finding it is, I had been on the hoof non stop for over six hours that day, and an infrequent service bus was due at nearby Caldercruix, so I didn't spend time conducting an extensive search.
