Log #531. Track from road to SW doesn't exist, or if it does, it's so overgrown with ferns to be invisible. Parked opposite field of nosy cows by 97 spot height to the SSE, then up though field before finding stile over the barbed wire fence. Pillar easily found on good track, woodland obscures views. Decent condition. [ExP-364/MiP-38/Rev-6/BM-42/IS-53/Other-28]

Parked in layby to South West and took marked track. Head height ferns meant I got very wet, once out of ferns and on estate paths it was much easier going!

Now in the middle of a pine wood, in the grounds of Drum Castle (National Trust), so views not what they were when pillar first erected.

Trig pillar in good condition. The OS spider plug has stamped lettering. Flush bracket faces south. In woodland. These woods have probably been planted since the trig pillar was built c1949. Visited and photographed 25/07/2001, GRP.
