Parked at Offham in rough lay bye, walked up the road and through large gateway into the grounds of Arundel Park. A track curves up to the right after the buildings and take you to the trig point.

Arundel Castle entrance gate to pillar in 55 minutes! Fabulous views today, though a little hazy.

Climb up through Arundel Park from Swanbourne Lake. At top gate, plantation is on the left, turn right along hill crest. Easy find in daylight. More from memory in dark by torchlight.

Fine stroll through Arundel Park. Pillar has its cap with shallow lettering, and one s/h open. Exited the park via the Offham Gate. Had intended to walk back to Arundel by the riverside path, but unfortunately for me there was 'essential maintenance' being carried out, and the path was closed. Had a refreshing lemonade in the Black Rabbit by way of compensation.

Walked up from the Offham gate, with its impressive Grade II listed gate piers topped with lion and horse plaster figures. Pillar is vgc but with foundations becoming exposed. Original cap is retained, indented lettering; rear sight hole open, no depressions for top loops. Lovely Downland views, E particularly good.

Walked up from Arundel Park gate near to South Stoke. Lovely day for middle of February. Trig located quickly and good views especially to Slindon Folly. Trig in good condition.

Lovely walk from Whiteways CP via a good lunch at the George and Dragon in Houghton, and thence down the river to the Offham Gate. Excellent views, and even more so from the ridge to the N. But be warned, you cannot exit Arundel Park at the Whiteways Gate - v frustrating to be able to see our car but to have to backtrack all the way down to the river and back up again, and completely evaporated my enthusiasm for trying then to find the FBM at the CP entrance. Metal cap shallow letters, W s/hole open, vgc.

Walked up from Offham gate, as others. A lovely short stroll and some fantastic views over the Arun, back across to the castle and to the sea. A lovely spot - I wish I had bought my picnic up with me. Me 106m

This was to be the hottest UK July day on record and even at 9.30 in the morning the temperature was up at 28 degrees! I'm glad therefore that it was an easy walk up. On way to meeting in the Body Shop. Someone has scratched the names Mum, Dad and Dave and the years in which they lived on the trig.

We parked near Offham Gate and walked up from there. A nice part of the Arundel Estate and access no problem (apart from March 24th for some reason). A friendly goat in a paddock by The Lodge took a great liking to the gingernut biscuits Shane was carrying and Nico decided to give it almost half the packet - less for me I suppose! The views are good to the North and East but obscured by trees to the West (the trig is a good way below the summit of the hill). Plug with indented lettering.

Staggered up the hill on a hot afternoon from Offham Gate, but it was worth every step for the view alone. The pillar is in good condition.

Situated in Arundel Park which is part of the Duke of Norfolk's Estate. The pillar is easy to reach via the park gate near Offham, with fantastic views of the Arun valley.
