Dumglow trigpoint sits nicely within a Bronze Age hillfort, with embankments and ditches all evidence of its former importance to whichever tribe used to live here. Good all round views, and I particularly enjoyed those over to Loch Leven and imagining Mary, Queen Of Scots making good her escape across the water to Kinross in 1568. A silent, magical winter wonderland walk up here for much snow remains. Pillar has open cap, and one sight-hole open.

Parked just down from the fishery car park (as it said anglers only) and walked passed the permit caravan. Followed a faint path round the north side of the loch until it petered out. Couldnt see where to turn north to follow the official walkers path, so carried on along the side of the loch to a cache at the west. Turned up here and followed a fenceline up a very steep slope. Amazing views from up here! Could see from the Wallace monument in the west to Berwick law in the east. Picked up the less steep path down through the trees, but almost missed it as it is so overgrown.

Parked at the end of the track to Loch Glow fisheries, could have parked in the car park but decided to walk. Took the muddy South path round the loch, then up towards Black Loch and then up a very steep track (following a fence line) up to the ridge line near the fort and then over to the trigpoint. Fantastic views in all directions. Took a track back towards the Loch to a new looking style and then down a path towards the trees which just stopped dead and then had to head back to the fenceline we came up. Nae easier on the way down! Took North track back around loch much less muddy.

Parked at the end of the forest track at the hairpin on the minor road to the east. A new sign for Loch Glow and Dumglow at this point was the last I saw until I was on my way down. Unfortunately I took the track to the north of the hill which eventually led to a near vertical bank to the summit. On the way down set off east and soon came across a notice on a fence saying that there was to be a new sign at that point. Followed the eastern track back which was much easier. Great 360 views particularly south to the Pentlands, Lammermuirs and Moorfoots. Plaque to the old shepherd now on the cairn.

First visit. To record FB number. The pillar was completed 4th April 1946 costing 26.8s.9d. Later in 1946 this marker was computed for triangulation as secondary station NT18/12 in the Dunfermline block. The flush bracket was levelled for height in 1959. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in June 1970. Note, S3678 is not a BsM flush bracket, S3677 and S3676 are. Summit of the Cleish Hills, good views all round. I don't remember any plaque back in 1988.
