Caught the !0.30 ferry from Sconser to Raasay to this mini adventure parked up on the free car park at NG 5631 40534 good paths lead across the moor then to little lochans to dun caan head here the views get unbelievably better the further you climb. The trig is in vgc with cap big drop off below weather stormy but still clear.Went on to calum's road and brochel castle again amazing views. P.S.If things couldn't get any luckier i pulled up when i saw a guy with a large telephoto camera set up,he said he was photoing some sea eagles and there chick and said i could have a look.Well both parents were there and i saw everything for the first time what a result just shows how remote theses isles are.

The middle of the 3 trigs on Raasay. A very interesting looking peak when viewed from the boat on the crossing, but this didn't prepare us for the visual feast when we were making the final approach to the mountain - you need to see it to appreciate the beauty of it. Weather was mixed for us, some sun, but then a snow storm blew in suddenly when we were about to leave the summit. We were later to watch these weather systems crossing from Skye when we were much further north on Raasay visiting the northern-most trig. More stunning views. A standard vanessa pillar in good condition.
