The official condition needs changing to "slightly damaged" as there are now chunks out of it half way up the front. Bumped into trigger "Fife Walking" so we had a bit of a chat. I think that was the first time we have met another trigger from T-UK in 15 years of exploring! Fabulous views in most directions from up here & the building associated with the adjacent transmitter mast has been smartened up with some nature themed murals.

Very enjoyable city Tump visit this evening. One to come back to again on a bright sunny day to get the best out of this excellent viewpoint. Condition is definitely slightly damaged.

Can't miss this one! Great views over Dundee, the Tay and beyond. Marked as slightly damaged as not in the best condition. Some of the trig has come away in places and there is some clear damage about a third of the way up.

Walked up from the town for this one, through dudhope Park, easy straight up path/stairs to follow. And signposts also. Less than 1 miles took 17 mins. There's a crack around the middle of this pillar

After 2 parkruns it was nice to drive to within about 30m of the trig. Looking a bit crumbly in the middle hence condition rating. Great 360 extensive views. Only minus is graffitied mast tower behind pillar.

nostalgic return to Dundee. first time to Dundee law but the quarters mile NE is Dens park scene of where I watched the '67 Scottish cup semi final win for Aberdeen against Dundee United with an own goal giving the Dons a 1:0 win

Definitely the easiest one of the day, drove all the way up the hill and then a short hop over to the trigpoint. Very windy and cold up here and a pokey gym if you are in to that sort of thing!

trig point pillar data states BM 64607 access very easy by walking or car, especially good for ambulant people, car park at top, incredible 360 views on good clear day.

Been up many times, but first time to look at trig. Mainly white flaking paint. Very windy morning and overcast. On a clear day, apart from the 360 view of the city, the best views are out west to Vorlich, Lawers and Schiehallion.

Beautiful sunny day. After leaving the boat from Shetland in Aberdeen I drove to Dundee to have breakfast and then spent some time looking round the city. This trig couldn't really be any easier to get to - there is a small parking area at the top of Dundee Law. The views are excellent - both Tay Bridges and much beyond. The pillar's location is a little spoilt by the ugly building and mast beside, and the condition of the pillar detracts from the experience a little. Nevertheless a nice easy trig with interest - just what I need after a month's solid trigging in Shetland and a night on the boat! Pillar painted white but flaking quite badly; FB faces S; N sighthole open, others plugged; top plugged with ?tarmac. Note that the war memorial nearby is also an intersected station (TP11797). I could also clearly make out the Northfield pillar (TP5182) directly behind the Tay Road Bridge. As I sat in the car munching a sandwich at around 12pm a cameraman and reporter from STV arrived at the car park to film the Lochee Flats to the west from the high vantage point.

This inner city summit is a public park. As well as the trig features include a war memorial, a comms mast and a topograph. Pillar VGC and painted white. Spider centre is plugged with asphalt. White painted flush bracket faces 169°, SSE. Vented through back sighting hole. Commanding views over Dundee and the Tay Bridges. Views to other stations include: Northfield, Easter Balrymonth, Peacehill, Drumcarrow Craig, Lucklaw Hill, Largo Law, Mount Hill, East Lomond, Normans Law, West Lomond, Ben Cleugh, Craig Rossie, Kinnoull Hill, Ben Vorlich, Pole Hill, Kinpurnie Hill, West Mains Hill, Craigowl, Carrot Hill, South Pourie. Did this while getting a virtual cache. Seen this point many times from the bridge but had never been up the law. I loved the really old tri as well as the modern one.

First visit. To record FB number. The pillar was completed 16th May 1948 costing £5.9s.0d. Later in 1948 this marker was computed for triangulation as secondary station NO42/6 in the Dundee block. The flush bracket was levelled for height in 1972. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in October 1981. Law Hill is the most prominent landmark in the City of Dundee. There are three features on this summit. A war memorial, a comms mast and the trig pillar. Views across the Tay to Fife and behind to the Sidlaw Hills.
