#35 'trig' of the trip. #14 IS. Used the following previous logs as guides but I have to say it took a while to locate the block and a while to locate the Berntsen. 1" bolt 1m from road edge in deep vegetation. Approx. 10m beyond passing place. 1" bolt in block 1.5m E of end of road repair, 0.9m back from edge of grass verge. Berntsen 2.0m W from end of road repair, 0.6m back from edge of grass verge, in line with marker nail on road centreline.

Berntsen and block both lightly covered in vegetation. Easy to find with Peregrinus' directions.

Found the trig easily enough with OS sketch and descriptions of previous loggers here, but it's getting very overgrown. Road repair is still prominent, bolt is 1500mm E from edge of that repair. Yellow marker tag for berntsen is wearing fast.

Found both the block and the Bernsten using previous peoples descriptions. A passing Land Rover owner looked at me very suspiciously with my prodding umbrella and glove and he stopped a little further up the lane deciding what to do. I left the car here to climb to the nearby trig not realising that you can drive up the hill.

Been meaning to go for this one (two) for ages and finally got the chance today. Found the new one then worked back to the surface block. I have now fully excavated this to make the find easy as the road repair on the photo isn't clear any more.

The layby was still flooded. Likewise found the block after rummaging in the undergrowth. View over the hedge across the valley toward Bathford and Bathampton.

the layby and road were completely flooded from the recent rain. after splashing through this, the bolt was found after a bit of a search of the roadside vegetation.

All said by Lathama i think ,there is a twee marker in the middle of the lane next to the Bern which is not currently in the Database Concur on narrow lane.

Same problem as Lathama found a circular OS plate (removable) and as I hadn't logged that I was after a SB moved on unfortunately now too dark for a photo.

I'm not surprised that no-one's been here as the lane is incredibly narrow. However, I got the surprise of my life when I got here. With the help of the OS photo I found the overgrown surface block and dug it out with the trusty trowel. The clue is to look at the section of repaired road on the photo - the SB is just past the end of the repaired section on the same side as the layby [passing-place]. However, between the passing place and the SB there is a brand new Bernsten!! It is not overgrown and marked by a yellow arrow on the road. Amazing! I have discovered something that isn't in the lists. How do I go about logging this?

I am using this system at the suggestion of 'Ted'. There IS a surface block here and there is also a Bernsten about 10 feet away from it which isn't listed on the database. The Bernsten looks new and is not covered by vegetation at all. It is also marked by a yellow arrow on the road. If I have logged this incorrectly, perhaps one of the site regulators would tell me!
