Parked on Grove Lane. Took took the public right of way from there up to the summit of Earl's Hill and the pillar, which involves a 180 metre ascent. Spectacular views all round

Usual ascent, steep up from car park, good views of the surrounding hills with the clouds clearing from Stiperstones, a few people about. Afterwards drove to and did a 11.7 mile walk over Stiperstones and various other hills.

Walked from car park located to the north. Pretty steep for the first half then eases off. Through gate into open access land and the summit of Earl's Hill with it's hill fort. Lovely white pillar and top views of the three other trigs bagged today - Corndon Beacon, Stiperstones & Greenfield (next to Bromlow Callow). Descent to car and off to the The Cock pub in Hanwood for a late lunch and a well earned beer.

Previously climbed this HuMP in spring 2008. Revisited to log the trig properly. Outstanding panorama even on a greyish afternoon.

Short, steep ascent through woodland from busy dog walkers' car park due N at SJ 40867 05695. We were first ones there at 8.53am, not a space left an hour later. Summit area IA hillfort c.600BC, a scheduled ancient monument and SSSI. Hill is up for sale at the moment and with only access via a permissive path, this could be difficult in the future, but probably won't deter hill and trig baggers. Local community are trying to raise £265k to buy it. Pillar found in good condition with exposed concrete base and bright coat of white paint. Cap looks like an alloy replacement with no lettering; rear and LHD sight holes open. Extensive panoramic views.

Straight up through the woods to keep out of the gale as long as possible. Wet and wild for the final section to the summit. Looks like an Iron Age hillfort around the pillar

Probably the highest trig I've visited so far; certainly the longest climb, about 1/2 mile of nearly continuous ascent from the Nature Reserve carpark. Trig is in very good condition, and the 360° panoramas certainly make it worth the hard work getting here.

One of the finest wee hills in England. Up for an evening walk. House Martins were still about. The crag on the east side gves good scrambling and a bit of climbing. One mod goes all the way to the top and is a very fine scramble indeed.
