Turned south off the B3212 at Hele, shown as B3344 on 1960 OS sheet 175. After about two and a half miles turning to east marked as Easdon with a sign on the verge. Parked opposite houses. Then on foot along bridleway in mainly south east direction. Through a gate then along the base of the hill with gorse to north. At next gate ground to north opens out and path runs west side of the wall. Uphill for about two hundred metres then at corner of wall a more north west direction towards summit of hill. Pillar comes into view to west as ground begins to level out. Good views all around although low rain clouds coming in from the west at the time. Raised S prefix. Cap plugged. Pre breakfast walk.

2/2 Circular from SW via Hameldown tor. Approached pillar from SE via Barracott farm, exited NW towards Langdon, good paths over hill, not so easy to cross valley.

A good pillar to finish my Dartmoor tour on, and so enjoyed every single day with superb company. Lottie was gold not to mention the two legged person. A lovely walk back to our start point....finishing before the sun set. Dedicated to the two non alcoholic beers in the Castle Inn the day before, a new beer called Saint ? Very moreish.

When approached from the west, prepare for gorse!! Good condition trig, coupled with a brilliant view of Hound Tor.

I parked in North Bovey and visited this pillar as part of circular walk (see image) Pillar in good condition, great little walk, some great views this evening, blowing a gale :) Hill Trigpoint, Befour, Britfour, Clem, Four, Hump, P30 Tump.

A nice easy find after parking up the lane past Barracott. Follow the obvious paths to avoid the bracken and gorse! Superb views across Dartmoor today!

Tip ,Drive up pass the farm at Barracott,on the byway ideal for a small car,go through the gate and park.only one space .easy way up to the top.

Great views from the top, I was trying to spot other trigs from here but the binoculars were not quite up to the job. The trig locations (ie Rippon Tor) could be seen clearly on this bright autumn day

Approached through forestry track and head-high bracken. Pillar is set on a granite boulder with a thin concrete base. Asphalt plug replacement. No paint but much mildew! Flush bracket has 'raised S'. Good views! Sight holes closed.

Built on the rocks and great views - although an odd and unpleasant smell on the day we visited. Think something must have died - but nothing obvious!

Pleasant rocky tor, might have been better without driving rain! Tried Barracott for parking - no good. Parked at entrance to Canna Farm; 2 gates, 2 fields to intake wall. From there 600m to summit. Pillar in good condition; cap missing, asphalt plug; 2 sight holes open. Extensive 360deg views.

Parked on road to SW at SX725821 before walking up lane past Easton Farm cottages. Once past fields took feint path next to fence and headed N through bracken and broom to rocky outcrop them onwards to summit. Lovely late afternoon walk in sunshine. I was wearing shorts and just about got away with it!

Superb views and more superb views! The trig point is in good condition, though the plug has been filled in, and so have two of the holes along the bottom of the trig. But otherwise there is no visible sign of damage. The S is above the number on the flush bracket.

Short sharp climb from the road to the SW.Parking ok next to gate then 2 fields to reach access land....after that its just head down and go for it! 18 minutes car to car ..not that its a challenge or anything...!

vgc, asphalt, BSM style FB. trig on low rocky tor, fine summit & view. Much of the gorse of 2002 has been burnt off: fairly easy ascent, but glad I wore boots & thickish trousers.

We parked at Easdon Cottages, having tried the other end of the bridle path to find nowhere to park the car. Followed a sheepy path up to the top. Wonderful views in all directions. Tarmac plug

What a pleasant walk! There are some marvellous all round views from here. I managed to park quite close, by the nearest house to the SE, but it was tricky.

Took ages to find convenient place to park nearby with easy access. Once climbed up the hill though, views all around were excellent.
