Was raining quite badly off and on this afternoon but still a few golfers about on this dreary December day. Waited a short while for a group to tee off nearby before making my quick dash to the pillar and not hanging around any longer than was needed.

Walked up on bridleway from Ovingdean to Red Hill and across golf course to find trigpoint standing between two greens. Had to pick my moment to go, lot of golfers about.

Accessed via parking at the Norman church of st wulfrans in ovingdean. Lovely views over the channel. Very close by are 2 Neolithic barrows and old chalk mines.

Parked on The Cliff, a residential road. Took the PRoW past golf club house continuing NE along edge of the links. At track junction headed directly for the pillar. Original centre cap retained, indented lettering; LHS sight hole open. Extensive panoramic views.

Parked in Ovingdean and took paths to W to Golf Course and TP - just to S off path, but the many golfers didn't pay me any attention. TP in vgc, with original plug, and views over Roedean and Brighton, though the mist descended as I was there.

From Holligsbury Castle we made our way here. Easy walk up from the car park along the path. Trig to the right within easy view. Today seems to be a trig and golf day. Still fairly misty, but once the fairway was clear we made a dash for the trig. In good condition.

Begin in the golf course, it should be inaccessable. But seeing as there was people picknicking (with nosign of any clubs) i didnt think people would mind me sneeking in for a quick picture...
