Second day of four walking St Peters Way. Parked in Mundon, got bus to Chelmsford and another to Stock then walked back. Trig point was a small diversion off my route. lots of nettles around trig.

Hmmm! Maybe I should have done like the previous loggers and visited this Trig outside of the summer period when vegetation and crops are not so prevelent. My final ascent into the field where this Trig is located was an arduous romp through the most ridiculously dense crop of Rape seed that saw me suddenly drop 2ft down into a concealed Badger set just 25 yards from the Trig-lucky I didn't break my leg. Anyway the nearest vehicular parking I found was next to the East Hanningfield village store/post office and this led to a 25 minute walk along the St.Peter's way footpath until reaching the dreaded rape field. The Trig can be found at the top edge of the field nestling under an Oak tree and no doubt when the crops aren't 6ft high then some good views maybe possible. The Trig , Spider and FB are all in good nick as you will see from the attached pics.

A pleasant walk along the footpath from Southend Road just above Little Claydons Farm, and then up one field. I think this is a better access than by the path that goes past Hill Farm. Plenty of wildlife about and good views.

Located just north of the St Peter's Way public footpath from which it is visible in a line of trees/hedgerow. There was a wide grass track round most of the edge of the field for access, otherwise I would not have ventured off the path. Views towards Hanningfield Reservoir
