(2752) Pillar within secure compound. Visible from the road from a couple of spots. As access relies on catching someone at the site, a Sunday visit was never going to pay off. The construction work adjacent to the reservoir looks completed now so access via that route may have come to an end? Pillar history: Built on the 12th of December 1936, at a cost of £4 6s 0d. Last maintained by the OS in November of 1999. FB is S1649

Accessed through the adjacent construction site. Pillar sits atop an old covered reservoir with a large new one being constructed adjecent. Several hair fractures and one a little more substansive on the rear face that looks as though it's had a repair at some point. An original centre cap is retained, lightly indented lettering; rear sight hole open. Some moderately good views,

Like others have reported, this is very well protected, so it remains "unreachable but visible". Mainly called by to check it was still there. It is, so it can't be the one that's now at West Notts College. Missed the boat for intercepting the grass-cutting team to gain access to the reservoir compound, by the way - it looks as if the grass was cut just a few days ago.
