Heading south along East Hoe Road at double bend enough room to pull onto the verge on right (west) side of road. Pillar just visible to the west next to a rusty drum or tank. Over barbed wire fence and across pasture and low electric fence. Pillar in a bit of weedy waste ground, knee high weeds. Good views to the south to the Solent and Isle of Wight beyond, a bit hazy though at the time.

Walked there from Bishop's Waltham. Trigpoint was not visible from East Hoe Rd. although the water tanks are. No easy access from the layby. After crossing field towards it is still extremely difficult to see it as it is very overgrown. The are around the TP and tanks in fenced off, but you can easily step over it. Inside the cordon you are surround my knee high brush. Easy to move through to get to TP. Nice views, better on a clearer day, but it was possible to see the IOW and pick out the Salt Hill Reservoir and Butser Wireless Mast trigpoints.

Under the fence at the top and the pillar is in a scrub area with the rusty old tank and I would think a water holder. Accompanied by a young buzzard. Good views.

In the middle of a large field next to two decaying water towers, and a new tower. The field appeared to be in an arable state; in the next field a herd of cows seemed to be rather nervy and jumpy - not sure why. Rain threatening, and large drops began to descend from the leaden skies as I reached the trig. A quick run for it,back to the silver machine! A most unsummery day, with unpleasant gusting winds, crashing trees and occasional heavy showers: perhaps the weather was spooking the cows? It could be late autumn. As I ran for the car,I could see Portsmouth's Spinnaker Tower through the murk; scattered skylarks as I rushed from the field.
