Great views all the way and also from the site of the pillar. Looking good with the venture scout plaque and painted white. The surrounding area is paved and provides a striking frame for the pillar. Parked on the A57 Snake Road near Gillott Hey Farm. Took the public right of way (PRoW) up to a farm at Upper Ashop, and then climbed up Crookstone Knoll / Hill, which is a very tough 300 metre ascent. Once at the summit, headed along a path to Madwoman's Stones. Then headed for the pillar. There is no marked path between Madwoman's Stones and the pillar and it is very rough going and you need to watch out for peat bogs. Dedicated to the Queen, whose 95th birthday it was on the 21st April 2021. Having visited the Kinder Low and Brown Knoll pillars 2 weeks ago, and The Edge last week, this was the fourth of the 4 Kinder Scout pillars that I have managed to visit over the last few weeks. The pillar has had a fresh coat of white paint applied to it.

Great day walking with my mate, Tracker Dog. Approached Kinder and the trig from east up Crookstone Moor, via Madwoman's Stones, the views were tremendous all the way round. Hey, Alport Dale E. of Kinder looks impressive from this point of view of walking! Picked a good day as the ground was the driest I've ever experienced on the top here, next week we're doing three trigs on the west side of Kinder, hopefully it will be just as dry.
