Having passed out of the fenced enclosure around Ringing Roger then headed directly across the moor to this trig on a bearing of 014. Very remote with full 360 views but mainly high moorland. Definitely not one to do when the ground is wet !! I next headed North to pick up the path around the northen rim of Kinder, eventually meeting the Pennine Way. The boggiest of the 4 trigs on Kinder even in todays dry conditions. We made the mistake of leaving the Blackden Edge too early and having more bog hopping to do than was actually needed. We met some people here who thought they were at a different trig point - now that's what I call lost!

A side of Kinder more rarely visited. The heavy recent snowfall was meling, meaning that thin layers of ice and slush protected me from the thick gloop - until, that is, predictably it broke and I unk up to my ankles in deep, oozy peat. Great fun. In really wet weather it will be a challenge to touch the pillar, as the mud was knee deep in places, as my friend found out. Rumours of someone falling into the peat and never getting out now believed...
