Private charter with coastal connections from Oban. First trigpoint of the day. What a gorgeous island. Never knew we were going to find so much history with the old monastery, outbuildings and graves. Great views from this little island

What a location for my first Vanessa! By boat from Craobh Haven with several other island and trig baggers. Our aim was to visit five islands in one day. We were landed on the rocks of Eileach An Naoimh and walked up past the monastery by different routes eventually converging on the pillar. FB faces NNW; SSE sighthole open, others plugged. Original top with raised letters covered in congealed fishy bird droppings!

First island of five in a day excursion with a boatful of hill and trig baggers. We had a look around the remains of the monastery, and then all converged upon the trig pillar. It was a grey and murky start to the day, with poor visibility, but nonetheless I have to give this a high score just for the inaccessibility and the craic with the other guys.

Good condition Vanessa pillar on the highest point of Eileach an Naoimh. Cap present with raised lettering. FB faces north-ish with both sightholes open but blocked internally. Absolutely superb day out to the Garvellachs, Lunga and Eilean Dubh Mor thanks to Duncan Phillips. Excellent visibility in all directions with the expected huge views. Simply stunning! The Historic Scotland monastery is also fascinating and has been on my wishlist for a good many years, so doubly excellent!

Cylindrical trig, vgc, metal cap, wide raised letters, fine grass & rock summit; hazy view. 10 of us (+ dog!) on a trip with Duncan Phillips; landed at NM642097 (on rock) - potentially awkward due to very low tide but we were lucky and had quite an easy landing. Gorgeous island - very green; interesting rock; well-presented monastery remains & big beehive cairn, also an odd standing stone. Rescued an embrambled sheep. Also visited Scarba.
