Road improvement scheme and landscaping now all complete. Interesting arrangement that allows for busses to underpass the A3093. Surface block would have been located where a large dark-green metal container-like structure now resides at beginning of new bus lane.

I parked in the road close to the Queen Charlotte Inn at SU 38045 45842 and walked up the footpath at the end of the road to the major road junction. There is a huge new underpass being constructed and I didnít hold out much hope of finding the road-side surface block. My fears were confirmed as I approached GZ. The verge where the block had been located was completely different, there was no sign of the SB. I managed to speak to one of the workmen just inside the fence. He had no idea what I was referring to when I asked about the SB but said that if anything had been there, it certainly wasnít there now as that area had been excavated for drainage pipes. Iím certain that this one has now gone!

Works continue. Area around block inaccessible behind temporary fencing. May well not survive.

Difficult to find, had to resort to OS sketch and then remove overgrowth and dirt. Found it eventually.

Had trouble locating this one, even with the photo and sketch from the OS site. The concrete block had been completely grown over by grass and we had to go digging to find it! My first surface block!
