There is a big gap in the hedge around the churchyard, once through it the trig jumps out at you. There are no views, just more hedge. Bagged on way to Royston visiting daughter and son-in law, first of two, with one not found.

Found an easy way through from the churchyard, even though the ditch had water in it. The mown paddock appears to be connected to one of the adjacent gardens so probably done with a sit-on mower. Pillar and metalwork all in good condition. Photo's not great as I only had my phone with me.

Bugger to get to, this one. As someone noted the grass is cut but no tractor access. Well I can reveal that the grass is cut by elves who are flown in my helicopter on the sixth tuesday of every month... Access is actually via adjacent fields to the southeast. Start from the gate access in Potton End (thats the street name) which runs south from the village green. There are two small fields to cross as you work your way behind the houses towards the church.

A bit of luck this time of the year, as the foliage in the hedge by the road had thinned out quite a bit. Found a gap about halfway between two telephone poles on the grass verge beside the road. Managed a glimpse of the trigpoint from this position. Roadside view only just.

A glance at the O/S map would suggest a very easy Trig to locate. The reality is however quite different. Once you find the opening to the field it is easy but finding the opening is not easy. I won't give it away so that future loggers are left with the same headsratching that I did. How did a tractor cut the grass when there is no obvious way through the extensive hawthorn hedgerow either side of a barbed wire fence? Anyway once in the Trig is in good condition and all intact , and obviously no views to anywhere. The O/S website details the computing year as 1950 and the height as 63.102 metres (207.03 feet).

On reaching the trig I realised the rubber on my gps had finally fallen off so 5 minutes of retraced searching was required sealing this as the last trig in the area before heading south west.
