Up Mill Hill over the A27. About a mile further on, to the left is the pillar in the field. At the time the ground was frozen. Good views towards the sea and Adur valley.

Parked at Mill Hill Nature Researve car park, trig is visible from north edge of woodland. Barbed wire fence, couldn't find a gap, otherwise I would have hot footed it over/under.

Parked in carpark at TQ 21265 07542 and walked through wood, once at bench next to fenceline you can clearly see the trigpoint but need to cross a fairly new barbed wire fence first (4 strands). There are also signs of a recent electric fence but this luckily wasn't on today.

I started towards the trig in a rain storm, fortunately I was dressed for the weather. By the time I arrived at the trig it had stopped raining and the sky was clearing. I stood in a puddle to take my pictures.

As per previous logs, If coming from the car park, take the path from the North West corner of the car park and walk though the trees, it brings you out into the field. Better than walking down the road and going though the fence!

Visited on a walk between Shoreham-by-sea and Styening to pick up trig points at Shoreham High Reservoir, Erringham Hill, and Shelleys. I too followed the path through the small wooded area north of the car park on Mill Hill to the field boundary, crawled under the barbed wire fence and then walked across the field to the pillar. I had thought the field was empty, but when I got close to the pillar I found a bull. Although he was with cows, I decided not to disturb him and confine myself to a photo of the pillar from a respectful distance. A trig point I'll have to revisit later.

First bag of day 3 of 6 of our SE England hill and trig bagging tour. Bagged this as driving away from the Youth Hostel. Convenient car park a short distance south of the trig on the minor road. Trig is located in middle of a rough pasture. Followed the path through the small wooded area to the field boundary, hopped over the b/w fence then across the field to the pillar. Good condition, good views.

Like others I used the upper car park to the south. Then followed a path through the woodland to the field boundary. Crawled under the barbed wire fence and walked up the field - which is non cultivated - to the pillar. It is in very good condition and still retains ina indented lettered plug. Yet another lovely view point.

Had to squeeze under bard wire fence to access this one. Cleared vegetation growing over flush bracket. Lots of activity at nearby Shoreham Airfield.

Cows are no longer in this field, so able to get to pillar easily, good condition and all fittings intact. Also found WWII 0.303" spent cartridge of British manufacture dated 1941.

Approach to this one was across a cow pasture from Mill Hill Car Park. No cows in the field, just the 'evidence' under foot. The pillar is in good condition, although the ground has risen slightly, so I had the scrape some soil away to get a good view of the flush bracket.

The pillar is in the middle of a field with barbed wire around it. The view from the nearby Mill Hill Car Park is very good: Shoreham Airport, Lancing College, and the sea beyond Hove and Shoreham.
