Parked at the cattle grid ENE of pillar. So far no one has posted a log on the approach from this direction. I can report that it's just as tussocky and boggy as all the others! The slog to get to the trig is amply rewarded with an extensive view. Cap still in situ.

Very snowy - had to abandon the car just up from Diffwys. Followed Glaslyn's route - very boggy, tussocky, snowy & extremely hard going. Cloudy, but good expansive views all round. Not spectacular but feels wonderfully remote up here!

Walked from Maesglas Farm to the east. Easy first half and then hard going. Thank goodness for the dry weather over the last month. Hate to of attempted it after rain.

Short walk but very hard going. Typical tussocky ground for the area. Boggy ankle twisting material. I approached from the NW,where the road enters the forest to the North there is a track that leads of south. Take this for approx 1km and there is a pull in on your left where a firebreak will take you out onto the hillside. From there it is every man/woman for themselves! No tracks and hideous bog took me 45 minutes to cover 1.5km. There might be easier ways but dont intend returning to find them!! Pillar in lovely isolation with fine views.Nice quiet location.

After two on the bike its back to the long straggly grass and hidden ankle twisting terrain that make up this area. Parked to the North to maintain height but a climb up may have been as easy. Trig in shape and views good
