Parked at Devil’s elbow and walked up. It was nice to see a dusting of snow. A few sheep around so dogs need to be on lead until you get onto higher ground.

A walk in the Brecon Beacons which took in Carreg Cadno 538m, Fan Gyhirych 726m, Fan Nedd 663m, Yr Allt 605m, Fan Bwlch Chwyth 603m and Fan Fraith 668m. Not a great forecast but clear summits until Yr Allt which were the important ones, and only rain on the last one. Some great views and scenery.

Parked at the Blaen Llia Forest car park and completed a 5.5 circular walk up to this trig and returned via Sarn Helen and the Maen Llia standing stone. The weather was very murky and wet but a good walk and due to the recent dry weather it was not too boggy underfoot, no views today but I would imagine they would be spectacular on a fine summers day, pillar in good condiditon with FB and Spider intact but with centre plug missing, sight holes are open

Short walk from parking at 'Devil's Elbow' (space for 3 cars) on the Sarn Helen road near Maen Llia. Very high winds and hailstones, so the nearby stone shelter came in handy. Visited the nearby Neolithic standing stone too.

Parked by Maen Llia standing stone. Nice glass and metal interpretation board nearby, pity some mindless idiot has felt the need to scratch the back of it. Not even with their initials or a profanity, just a random squiggle. Over the stile a little further down Sarn Helen and then directly up towards the pillar across rough, tussocky ground. An army helicopter was buzzing overhead for the entire time it took me to ascend. Excellent view.

Walked up from the south east , parked at the car park/ picnic area at the bottom of Fan Lila. Route up was very boggy in places. Some snow on the top today. Returned via the normal north east path and back along the road.

Bagged this trig on a long walk to get 4 of the Fans in one of the less frequented parts of the Brecons, the Fforest Fawr. Weather was fine although a bit wet underfoot. We parked at the car park/picnic spot just north of Blaen-Llia, walking first over Fan Llia, then Fan Nedd via the Maen Llia stone. On to Fan Fraith and finally Fan Gihirych (the second trig). We retraced our steps for the return leg as far as Bwlch y Duwynt and then contoured round to the west and south of Fan Nedd back to the car park. A satisfying 11.5 mile trog that knocked 4 peaks and 2 trigs off our list. Pillar is in good condition. Views don't need me to describe them - it's the Brecons. The Fforest Fawr is one big private estate with a very limited number of permmisive paths across it, no access is allowed during the lambing season.

Fan Nedd The TP is not the only source of interest: there are the two molehills in the foreground, the only ones seen on this hill. So how did the little fellow get onto the hilltop?!

Good on a concrete plinth. Lovely views. A permitted bridleway is shown on the map but there was absolutely no sign of it, which made for a hard walk over the long grass. Missing plug.

Approached from Gihirych viaduct to NW following the river p to the forestry and then walking along the left hand edge to the track then on to the summit nice if at times damp (despite two dry weeks) underfoot

Last visited this pillar during my round of the Welsh Hewitts ,that was a January trip and was less windy ! But the views were good today ,a nice short walk from the standing stone .

It is in conditions like today that you have got to admire Trig Points for being so hardy. There it was standing proud and in good condition whilst I was having trouble standing up. Peripertic wouldn't have been able to stand on it today!

Logging this retrospectively from 2010. I think this day was the only day I have visited two trigs on the same walk, the other one being Fan Gihirych. One of my best ever days in the Beacons, I remember it very well. Parked at the top of the zig-zag road up from Heol Senni.
