Tucked away behind the church. Parked at the lych gate and found a handy gate into the field just along the road. Good views to the west.

A very beautiful spot just over the back wall of the churchyard. Nothing between here and the Wrekin. Great view of Brown Clee. Take care down Farlow bank past the school. Steepest bank for miles around.

Adjacent to the churchyard of St. Giles, Farlow, which is a 'living churchyard' with lovely maps to show you where all the wildlife lives. Walked through and took a look at the wall - easy jump but didn't fancy the climb back, so went through the next door gate instead! On the edge of a sheep pasture with what I'm sure would be lovely views westwards on a good day. The hoar frost on the top was about half-an-inch thick today but revealed the original plug - deeply-indented letters. S sighthole open, others closed. Concrete base exposed about 3" all round. No paint. This is a lovely peaceful spot on top of a very slippery hillclimb in the car! Glad I was going up it today and not down! Incidentally, the ducks and chickens in the barn by the church provided excellent entertainment for 'er-indoors' who stayed in the car!

Did Desperate Dan cycle up that hill to the North - wow! I too accessed the trig by jumping over the graveyard wall but came out of the field the easy way - by using the gate into the field. Villages often nestle in valleys but this one is perched on top of this grat hill. can I live here please!

A few weeks early for this one. Still yet to find 2003! Just outside the churchyard in Farlow. The local school were holding a Rememberance service in the small church, and two men were repairing a gravestone. A careful walk amongst the graves and a jump down a wall accessed the pillar, which as usual had the fp facing away from all sensible view points. The pillar was as usual devoid of paint, but otherwise in perfect condition. The school door was amusing. Had Farlow in Worcestershire. Now Worcestershire is famous for swallowing up its neighbours, but having failed to digest Herefordshire, it seems silly to take on Shropshire :-) (It was a quirk of the postal system)
