Bagged this with TP5909, Parked in Samphire Hoe and had a loop in there also. This one is easy to access albeit a bit steep to run up. didn't know about the footpath at the top and hacked my way though some prickly bushes and got cut to pieces lol. see the path after on the way back. No flush bracket as cylindrical TP. Nice views over dover and the downs.

Even with OS App, a bit of a challenge. In short, we persevered north from our parking spot on St David’s Avenue until just after a brick wall ( having gone past the metal gate on the left) and then turned left along an overgrown, but discernible path. Terrain levels out and becomes more open.

Well this was a tricky one and no mistake. After a long and unexciting walk through the port area of Dover I turned north and huffed and puffed my way up the hill and through the bramble jungle. Eventually I found a discernible path and after that it was fairly easy to locate. Worth it for the stunning views out over the Channel.

As others before, parked at end of St David’s Avenue, Aycliff. Then on foot, through gate and up driveway towards play area, then north uphill behind houses. Went through metal gate to west onto grassy bank and followed track west and kept trying to find a path uphill north. Impenetrable brambles and gorse. Ended up heading back east until going through a gate to reach the original path uphill, although slightly higher up. As the ground levelled out at the top, is an old ruined brick shelter and a gate to the west. Over the gate and through the gorse onto the ridge (and behind the brick shelter) is a tarmac path heading west. After about two hundred metres about ten metres south of the path is the pillar. Cylindrical Marilyn pillar, second today. No FB. Bit of an effort to get here. Good views across the A20 towards Shakespeare Cliff and the pillar there, also to Dover Harbour and the French coast beyond. Would have been better to head directly north straight uphill from the play area until reaching the ridge and then turning west. From here over the road to Shakespeare Cliff.

An unusual cylindrical trigpoint, and can clearly see the Shakespeare Cliff trigpoint nearby. Decent views, enhanced by all the recent snowfall. I ended up getting stuck in thick vegetation before eventually rejoining the footpath.

Easy paths to follow all the way to the trig. The small dotted line path on the Explorer maps does not exist and the hill side is all gorse and bramble.

Vanessa-style pillar built with no flush bracket. Is it really an OSGB36 pillar? More likely for the channel tunnel project. Residential parking (TR 3016 3973); RoW NNW, then when track turns sharp right a track weaves up through gorse and scrub to the pillar. A damaged asphalt plug replaces centre cap.
