Last of four trigs today. As others have said, an easy bag from the layby on the bend with the trigpoint being next to the second stile. Also as others have said, great views for such little effort!

A circular long run from Darwen to bag 4 Trigs (sadly one was inaccessible). This was the second one on the route, and I even had an audience when taking some quick pictures. The Trig is in good condition and the views from it were quite impressive.

I could have just cut and paste joebee98's entry from last week as mine was exactly the same. Only thing was I timed my visit wrong as the Black Bull pub didn't open for another few hours. Parked up in the layby on the bend on Bog height Rd and just nipped along the FP where the pillar awaits. It wasn't too easy to tell in the rain, but it seemed that it may not have been on the highest point of the hill, and on checking the OS map, it does seem that this is 9m below the summit. Great views over Blackburn and the Darwin Tower.

I've lived in Darwen all my life and I didn't know this one was here until I looked carefully at the Trig List. Really easy bag - park on Bog Height Road (there is a layby on the downward side) and scramble over two stiled fences, the trig point being just after the second. Can see Darwen Tower, Ewood Park and the M65 motorway.

Lots to see from up here, Ewood Park, the Motorway, Darwen Tower. I wonder how many football grounds you can see from trig points? I know you can see Bolton's ground, from quite a few.

A beautiful spot, the splurge of the East Pennine towns pond below Oswaldtwistle Moor, Pendle, Darwen Moor and it's wonderful "spaceship" and also on show the Three Peaks glimmering distant beyond Bowland and the Lancs/Yorks border hills and the strange empty expanse of the M55.

This is an easy trig to visit. There is space for 3 cars off road just 30 yds from the trig which is just behind a dry stone wall. If you like views of Ewood Park and Darwen then this is your dream trig ??.

SITE VISIT: Straightforward approach from southwest. Parking layby on north side of road by bend. RoW with stiles. Pillar in good condition. Spider centre contains a grey plastic cap, fitted 4/06/2000 by JWR. Flush bracket faces NNW ~331° Vented through NE sight hole. 225° panoramic view spans from NW through east to south.

Walked up from Blackburn train station. Got a bit disorientated in the new housing estate not marked on my map. Happycyclist's paintwork on the pillar still looks lovely. Continued onwards next to Darwen Moor.

Easily accessible and visible. At side of public footpath. I parked in gateway to the south where there is a footpath sign but the only means of access was to climb the locked gate. Pillar in good condition. Views over Blackburn.

Visited again on 1st and 2nd September 2011 to give the trig a lick of paint. It will probably attract graffiti, being where it is, but I reasoned that shouldn't stop anyone from trying to make things look nicer.

Easy to find, just park up at lay by. Over style next to gate. Follow footpath to next gate (damaged) and trig point is next to style. Good view over Blackburn and surrounding hills.
