Heading south west on minor road, hoping for easy roadside find. Didn’t see on passing. Pulled in at field entrance on east side of road. Walked north along verge on west of road. Thick hedge and no obvious way through. Difficult to see through. Only after checking other people’s pictures I was sure I was in the correct place. Herd of cattle in field. Eventually managed to clamber over the hedge and barbed wire fence. Wasn’t necessary as there is a stile in the north east corner of the field. Spider and cap in place. Fading brown paint. While taking pictures of the pillar spotted a farmer in same field about 200 metres to south. Exited field by stile , easier but slightly longer walk. On way back to my bike the same farmer was trying to turn into the field where my bike was. Very embarrassing. By the time I had got back to it he had driven past me, I waved, he turned and came back. I was expecting an ear bashing but he was absolutely fine. He was able to get into the field from the other direction. I said I had just been to the pillar and he was quite impressed. No problem at all. Extra point.
