I parked roadside and through the gate that says bull in field. No bull in sight thankfully. Nice views at the trig. Didn't stick about incase the bull materialised

I continued walking from my previous trig at Totley. Numerous cars parked at Moss Road sk293799 and a popular dog walking starting point. Upon entering the access land National Trust volunteers repairing footpaths. A layrinth of paths over this moor. Pillar has last vestige of a white coat of paint. Spider plug intact and flush bracket faces ENE. 360 panoramic views. Returning to Moss Road I observed air shafts where horses graze. Is this to do with the Totley Tunnel?

2nd of 5 today. I arrived on the footpath from Moss Road, having come through the Strawberry Lee Plantation from Blacka. I loved this one. On a natural plinth on moorland. Excellent paths to it and excellent 360 views. Not a soul around and a glorious sunny day. On to the Totley trig next

Nite walk as the crow flys ,not the best idea ended up wet feet in marshland but at trig the views were phenomenal, orgasmic one could say there is a foot path to the trig 1 hour each way or get wet an do it in half the time

Peak District Boundary Walk skirts past this pillar, which I have visited many times and always called it Totley. Local knowledge is helpful around here since so many trods cut across the area. Took one back to Longshaw Estate before drifting back to the car via Ox Stones again, but from the W. All three are for Paramo, it rained constantly today but stayed dry.

(1859) A short drive from the pillar at Totley, and passing through the unusual roundabout/longabout at Owler Bar. Layby parking on the B6054 directly across from the gas installation and the start of the footpath, which takes you pretty much straight to the pillar. Blustery wind and very poor visibility, so it was a case of head down and soldier on. I made the journey from road to pillar in around 10 minutes. Slight misstep towards the end as what I thought was the pillar in the murk, was actually two old stone gate posts! The pillar itself is pretty good - aside from a few minor dings and scapes. Sitting in a area of grass amongst all the heather. And painted white - which certainly helped it to blend in with the weather today. Pillar history: Built on the 30th of June 1938, at a cost of £6 1s 0d. Last maintained by the OS in May of 1983.

2/3. Walked across from White Edge, having walked East from that trig I picked up the track running N-S up the small river valley. Interesting markers on the side of the track in various locations, continued up past the old decommissioned reservoir eventually crossing B6054 at the white gate. Then heading NE up to the Trig. All metal work intact, very good panoramic views.

Easy enough walk up from the gas terminal thing in the south. Huge numbers of people out and about for a mid-week January day. But I suppose it is the first bit of sunshine this year. Nearly made a mess of the reversal. Is navigating getting harder, or am I getting older? Fox House before the drive home. Again, quite crowded. Good on 'em!

I really loved this one. BIG SKY!! It's an easy stroll up the track from the gas terminal near Owler Bar. Great views eastwards. I'll definitely be heading back.

3/3 Parked in convenient layby on the B6054 opposite the Saltersitch gas terminal. The very wide track leads directly to the pillar. Tremendous panoramic views from here on a good walking day.

Parked in layby at SK 2776 7812 and after finding the Barbrook surface block (TP0195) in the layby I set out over the (full width) gate instead of the 'passenger' gate and out onto Totley Moor. Initially however I mistakenly headed E and found myself in knee-high heather laden with water after the recent rainfall. With wet trousers I realised my mistake and turned N, eventually finding my way to a broken wall and a grassy track along/beside it. Along here the pillar came into view. I turned left along a muddy track and then through a small patch of heather to reach the pillar. Great views again over Sheffield. FB faces NE; NE sighthole plugged (grass growing over it), all others open. The sun just tried to poke through the thick cloud as I left. On the return I found the path marked on my Landranger map which towards the bottom took me through some very wet marshland adding to my moist misery! I should have consulted an Explorer map and used the track that CURRYSCRIM used four days later!

The last of a five trigpoint walk including Black Plantation, Ox Stones, Ringinglow and Totley. Fantastic all round views from this desolate moorland trigpoint. The sun came out allowing me to celibate my two hundredths trigpoint. People may say what's the point of trigpointing, but it’s taken me through some great countryside that I would otherwise never have dreamed of visiting – Flask Edge being a perfect example. Continued back to Blacka Plantation to complete the 13 mile walk.

From Fox House Inn along A6187 to junction with A625 then bridleway past Totley Tunnel air shaft and round to the trig. Expansive 360 degree views amid a sea of heather. Have recorded as slighly damaged because some deep chips in the concrete. Heading for White Edge next.

Metal plug [raised letters]. Public. Access Land. Peak District National Park. Magnificent! Classic moorland pillar on green mound amidst sea of heather. Good access paths. Can be reached along bridleway from junction A6187/A625. Trigpoints don't come much better than this.

On a walk with my mate, Tracker Dog, around the 'bowl' of Totley and got this easy trig. Great views all round; Kinder in W, Stanage Edge in N, Sheffield and power stations in E and Chesterfield in S. Plan on doing the walk in winter.

walked up from longshaw via wooden pole and lady cross.saw two large red deer on the moor,ive walked these moors for several years and never seen them here before.walking on to have a gander at houndkirk hill before returning via burbage rocks.

Easily accessible and very visible. I came up the footpath from the Barbrook SB location. Slightly off path but surrounded by a sea of purple heather. Lovely views of the surrounding area. Plug intact with raised lettering.
