Destroyed, discovered lost to housing by IRM in 10/02. Original visit by GRP in 1985 and last seen extant (GRP) 04/94. LVP@OS confirmed reported destroyed 19/09/2002. Built 26th February 1948. One of four fourth order pillar stations added to Block NT18 Dunfermline, in 1948. Site now occupied by flats built by Persimmon Homes which can only be described as stone clad stackable garden sheds resembling something from Legoland. One of the rockeries contains a suspicious piece of concrete with smooth painted surface. Site revisited 20/05/2004, not worthy photographs, GRP.

I am logging this on 30 August 2008 as I have a photo of the late pillar. It was on the west side of a minor road at the edge of some waste ground just about to be redeveloped. The photo is taken looking north. Why was the pillar not retained as a feature in front of the flats?

First visit. To record FB number. The pillar was completed 26th February 1948 costing £5.18s.6d. Later in 1948 this marker was computed for triangulation as fourth order station NT18/T53 in the Dunfermline secondary block. Four of these fourth order stations were added to this block, four years after the bulk of the NT18 trigs were built. The flush bracket was levelled for height also in 1948. This trig point was last maintained by the OS on 11th June 1998. OS confirm S4411 was destroyed 19/09/2002. Was OK when I first visited in 1985, and last seen by me in 1994, GRP. Roadside pillar behind field fence. FB faced WNW.
