Access via the footpath from the south along Cwm Da was not great: path indistinct and crosses VERY wet marshland. I advise wellies! Arduous walk for such a short distance as a result. But the visit to the trig was worth it. A fantastic clear day with snow still around, some of the best views in Wales. A bank holiday weekend and we saw just one couple all day and that was during a 30 minute stay at the summit. Pillar, boundary stone and nice cairn. Like getting a full house!

A lovely circular walk from just below the farm at Pentre-tai-yn-y-cwm (catchy name!), up Cwm Da to the saddle between Orddu and the Summit. Followed the boudary stones along the ridge. The view from Foel Gocg was amazing. The entire range of Snowdonian hills spread before us! Carried on along the ridge to Garnedd Fawr, and then back down the valley to the East of Moel Emoel and across through Coed Creigian and back to the start. A fantastic walk. Highly recommended.
