Beautiful spot, not too damp despite the rains, golden cool misty morning then again it's the cool breezy greys. Hundreds (perhaps) of pipits.

Approached via the tarmac road toward the Post Office Radio station. The approach looked grim. Once beyond the mast went off piste. From here the terrain is currently very dry across the mire. This trig is in good condition. No evidence of cattle hovering. Great views E to the coast. On return I glimpsed a deer running west along a fence line toward the wood. The late afternoon sun did improve my grading of this trig from a 4 to 5.

Short walk along tarmac drive up to the radio mast then a VERY boggy walk following land rover tracks across heathery moor (often mire) to corner where fence meets woods, and short walk over another very wet field up to the column.

Parked at the beginning of the access road to the radio station. Nice 3k round to start the day. Frightened 4 Roe Deer as we crossed from the access land. Views not so good yet, still slightly misty. I think this was my 400th unique trig point...some discussion about double logs and not reachable but seen...but I'm claiming this as it....until futher notice!....nope according to him who knows its not this one...its Little Houghton rivet!...a rivet...bummer.
