The roads were very narrow around here. Interesting cup thingy left here.

Parked easily at beginning of lane and short walk to trig which is way up the bank on a high plinth. Needed to clamber up to see the bracket number - good views from here!

A walk up the hill from our holiday cottage hired to celebrate Sis#2 significant birthday. Easy find, in good condition with metal cap although chunk out of NW corner, and some climbing needed to surmount its rather high base plinth. But on a sunny (but very windy) day climb was worth it for the good views north and east (west and south obscured by high hedges at this time of the year). Great blackberries as well.

Hidden slightly off the road up a recessed gateway. Good all-round views from the top of the plinth on a sunny and clear day

Visited during a week spent walking the SWCP. Why are so many of Devon's pillars in hedges, or on top of walls?

vgc, metal cap, shallow letters, BSM style FB. On NE hedgebank of track, 20m SE of road. Unusually, top cap has slotted screws in place of the usual Allen screws - not something I recall seeing before.

The pillar's OK but the plinth is badly cracked. Plug with indented lettering.

The pillar is ok: the plinth is heavily split. It has it's spider, and is gently being taken over by the hedge it lives in.

Plate This is a rubbish photo as I had to poke the camera through the hedge around the back of the pillar...
