Had a look at this interesting trig using aerial photographs to see the Hillfort the trig sits on. Super 360 views and a really friendly farmer (Andrew) who told me his wife was intending to paint this trig soon. Trig pillar is sound with one sight hole open but cap is missing. Spider and Flush Bracket are both in good condition. Great historical site with amazing views back to Beacons.

Found it straightforward enough late evening by moonlight. Pleasant enough area as far as I could tell.

3/5 Today. Parked briefly at pull in by farm gate to NNW. Pillar visible from road. Quick walk across field for an easy bag. More spectacular views of the Beacons. Good condition, spider and FB intact.

Roadside parking to E. 2 field gates save hopping fences. Trig sits on the Twyn-y-gaer IA hill fort (there are others with the same name). Pillar has lost it's original top cap and has no plug; LHS sight hole open. Extensive views.

The pillar is highly visible from the road and accessible through gates without the need to climb any walls or fences. I parked in the gateway to the east from where I gained access - the sheep did not seem to mind and there was no sign of any human to refuse permission. Pillar is missing its plug but otherwise in good condition. Nicely located atop of old earthworks and the views on a near perfect spring day were outstanding.

Another in the cluster around the town of Brecon. new fence is single strand and plent of room to abandon a car. Easy out and back before a meeting.
